    Check out the new principals in Bossier Parish

    With the first day of school two weeks away, Bossier Schools would like to introduce parents and students to the new principals of the district.

    This year Bossier Parish School District is welcoming four new principals. These principals will be calling Apollo Elementary School, Benton Middle School, Central Park Elementary School and Plain Dealing High School home.

    Apollo Elementary School

    Dr. Natalie Pope will be the new principal at Apollo Elementary School. Pope has over 13 years of experience in education and is dedicated to fostering academic excellence and supporting growth.

    Pope began her career as an elementary school teacher and then served as an instructional coach at Kerr Elementary School and Rusheon Middle School.

    Most recently Pope served as the Assistant Principal at Rusheon Middle School.

    Benton Middle School

    Nicholas Almasy is the new principal at Benton Middle School. Almasy has served as the assistant principal for the past 10 years.

    Prior to becoming assistant principal, Almasy coached football and softball at Minden High School.

    Central Park Elementary School

    Zaraka Lopez is the new principal at Central Park Elementary School. Lopez began her educational career in south Louisiana but has spent most of time in Bossier Parish.

    She taught special education at Benton Elementary School for eight years and ELA at Rusheon Middle School for two years.

    For the past three years she has been the assistant principal at Rusheon Middle School.

    Plain Dealing High School

    Jason Edwards is the new principal at Plain Dealing High School. Edwards brings with him 21 years of experience in education

    He started his career as a mathematics teacher and then went on to serve as the assistant principal at Benton High School for the past nine years.

    According to Bossier Schools, Edwards is committed to serving the Plain Dealing community and ensuring all students thrive.
