Liverpool supporters might be getting a bit nervous about Trent Alexander-Arnold's relationship with Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham, as links with a move to the Spanish capital for the Reds ace continue to persist .
In an ironic twist, Reds supporters had hoped back in 2022 that Alexander-Arnold, and then Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson would be able to convince Bellingham to move to Anfield from Dortmund. However, Bellingham opted to join Real Madrid last summer which culminated in him lifting the La Liga title and the Champions League trophy at Wembley earlier this year.
And now it seems as though Bellingham could be doing his best to try and tempt Alexander-Arnold away from Liverpool next summer, when the latter's current deal ends. Trent Alexander-Arnold is out of contract in 2025 and come January, he will be able to negotiate with Real Madrid freely.

The pair, who are good friends, have been spotted partying in Los Angeles on their extended holidays following England's Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain. And it seems entirely plausible Bellingham would be doing everything in his power to convince Alexander-Arnold to ditch Liverpool for Madrid.
They have just signed Kylian Mbappe to spearhead their attack alongside Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo. And with Dani Carvajal set to turn 33 in January, Alexander-Arnold would be the Spaniard's long-term successor.

Losing Alexander-Arnold on a free would almost certainly be the darkest timeline for Liverpool. He is a world-class footballer, capable of turning a game on its head with one pass.
Of course, a deal may be in the pipeline for Alexander-Arnold and fears of losing the England ace on a free could be allayed pretty soon. However, that the Reds star was even able to enter the final year of his deal is poor planning on Liverpool's part - you do not let your best players get to that stage, especially if they're world-class and at the peak of their powers.

While a move away from Liverpool would be heartbreaking for Reds supporters, it would also be one that would weigh heavy on Alexander-Arnold, an academy product who has spent his entire career on Merseyside.
But, the reality is he is 25, and he will never have this much negotiating power at his disposal than he does now. Right now, he holds all the cards. If Liverpool don't cough up the cash to give Alexander-Arnold a bumper new deal, then he will have his pick of clubs all over Europe - with Real Madrid almost certainly at the front of the queue.
England teammate Anthony Gordon spoke of their relationship at Euro 2024 after the pair lavished praise on one another for their performances. He said: "They get on really well. They're always together - breakfast, lunch and dinner.
"You always see one with the other. It's a good relationship and obviously it's helped them because now Trent's going to the midfield.
"I mean, it benefits Jude because they're friends, they can help each other through it. And Trent's new to the position so he's going to need Jude's help sometimes. and having that friendship and that relationship is going to help."
