Stephen Curry Reveals What’s Most ‘Dope’ About Playing With LeBron James

Stephen Curry and LeBron James have spent a decade battling for NBA supremacy.

Finally playing as teammates for the first time with USA Basketball ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Golden State Warriors superstar revealed what's been so "dope" about getting to know his longtime Los Angeles Lakers counterpart on that "different level."

“In the Finals, that brings out the ‘healthy animosity’ of somebody standing in your way of a goal, and you know you’re gonna have some bad blood out there," Curry said of James, per Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo! Sports. "But through it all, like I’m a firm believer you can be competitive, you can have that killer instinct and see blood on the other side, but still have the utmost respect for who you’re playing against. That’s the ultimate compliment for a guy like Bron who’s always pushed the bar higher and higher with everything that he’s done."

“There’s still that competition, but I can fully enjoy this experience and get to know him at a much deeper level as teammates," he continued. "I think that’s what we both deserve at this stage of our career. It’s pretty dope.”

Curry and James are entrenched as starters for Team USA with the Olympics fast approaching, the latter cementing his case as the Americans' alpha dog over the last two weeks during their undefeated yet up-and-down tour of exhibitions.

The days of Curry and James, 36 and 39, respectively, fighting for championships in the NBA are probably over. How lucky the basketball world is to witness these legends not only wearing their country's colors together, but fully embracing their newfound and long-awaited partnership on Team USA's quest for Olympic gold.
