On Wednesday night, July 24, HARDY took to the Tonight Show stage to perform a track from his new album Quit!!. He performed “Psycho” while wearing a straitjacket, successfully setting the mood for the appearance with a digital backdrop designed like a padded cell.

Quit!! released on July 12, and has steadily moved up the charts. It currently sits at No. 1 on the Billboard Hard Rock Albums chart, and No. 23 on the Billboard 200. This album is HARDY’s first full rock album, following last year’s genre-hopping the mockingbird & THE CROW.

HARDY is currently on his headlining Quit!! Tour, which will see him play his first stadium show in Mississippi. Previously, he stopped off in Nashville for CMA Fest in June, where he played a rousing set that had a revolving door of stars. He brought out Big & Rich for a surprise performance to celebrate the 20th anniversary of “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy).” HARDY admitted to the crowd that he didn’t know the duo was going to join him ahead of time.

“We have a big surprise tonight,” he said at the time. “I would’ve never in a million years thought that we would be doing this, only not because of the people or the song, which they’re both great, but I just didn’t have it in my bingo card as the kids say.”

HARDY Continues His Headlining Tour for New Album, Previously Praised Songwriters for Their Work

A couple of months ago, HARDY took to the rooftop of the BMI offices in Nashville with Lainey Wilson to celebrate two of his hit songs—”Wait in the Truck” and “Truck Bed.” He was joined by the songwriters who co-wrote the songs, and HARDY took the time to praise them for their work.

“Everybody that’s sitting in these chairs made the song better,” he said, surrounded by Hunter Phelps, Jordan Schmidt, and Renee Blair, who co-wrote “Wait in the Truck,” as well as Ashley Gorley and Ben Johnson, who, along with Phelps, co-wrote “Truck Bed.”

HARDY continued, “There’s times where people maybe can get in the way or hold back creative freedoms or the creative ball that’s kind of rolling in the room. Between producers and songwriters, every person that has sat in a chair truly made both songs better.”
