Nissan Rogue named ‘Coolest Thing Made in Tennessee’

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Nissan Rogue was named 2024’s coolest thing made in Tennessee.

The award recognized the Rogue, manufactured in Nissan’s Smyrna facility and with engines built at their Decherd Powertrain Plant, for its craftsmanship and innovative design. More than 100 items were initially nominated, with four items from Middle Tennessee named finalists in the contest:

• Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey made in Moore County
• Ideal Tridon’s worm gear clamp made in Rutherford County
• Hitman Smoked Products gourmet flavored bacon made in Wayne County

This was the first year that the Tennessee Manufacturers Association, in partnership with the University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services, the Chattanooga Regional Manufacturers Association and the Tennessee Smart Factory Institute put on the contest.

“The Nissan Rogue’s victory in our inaugural contest is a testament to the outstanding quality and impact of Tennessee’s manufacturing sector,” said Bradley Jackson, President & CEO of the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Industry. “This award highlights the exceptional work being done at Nissan’s Smyrna plant and their contribution to the automotive industry.”

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Vice President and Managing Director of Regional Government Affairs, Moore Halmark, congratulated the finalists.
