LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A Correctional Officer in Lebanon County was sent to the hospital last month after they were assaulted by an inmate, Troopers said in court documents.

According to the charges filed by State Police at Jonestown, Jamie Logan, 47, of Lebanon, allegedly attacked the officer after being seen by a nurse in the medical unit of the Lebanon County Correctional Facility on June 9.

Logan yelled vulgar statements towards the nurse when she was walking out of a room that caught the attention of the CO, according to Troopers.

Logan then lunged at the nurse while the CO grabbed her arm to pull her back. Then, State Police say Logan allegedly turned around and punched the CO in the head multiple times.

According to court docs, two other COs rushed into the unit to help the one being attacked and were able to take Logan into custody.

The injured CO was taken to a local hospital and was diagnosed with a concussion, Troopers said.

Logan faces a felony charge of aggravated assault. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 29.
