WNCT.com’s Get in the Game: Abigayle Dobra

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WNCT) — When Abigayle Dobra steps up the plate, she’s got one thing on her mind.

“I’m thinking I’m going to hit this and I am going to get on base,” Dobra said.

Between chants in the dugout and cheering on her teammates, she does well swinging the bat. In a recent close game, Dobra scored the first run to give the Pitt County All-Stars some well-needed momentum.

She plays travel ball for the Kinston Shockers and was selected to play for the Pitt County All-Stars Softball Team.

Dobra plays catcher but can play anywhere on the field. Head Coach of the Pitt County All-Stars Softball Team Jack Allen said this is his first season coaching Dobra and she is a joy to coach.

“She loves to play ball and she listens well,” Allen said.

Dobra has hopes to play college softball and become a veterinarian.
