PENN TOWNSHIP, SNYDER COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Three people were injured after a fox attack on Thursday in central Pennsylvania.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the attack occurred Thursday morning on the 300 block of Pleasant Drive in Penn Township.

A release states a gray fox had jumped into the yard of a family and swam in their swimming pool before leaving without incident. The fox then allegedly returned later and bit one person, left, then returned and bit another two individuals.

Troopers say that one victim was bitten while trying to get the fox off of the other person who was being attacked.

The PA Game Commission confirmed state troopers were able to kill the fox after a failed attempt by a PA Game Warden, and being struck by a vehicle.

The fox was given to the PA Game Commission for rabies testing, according to PSP.
