Harry Maguire is confident he'll be donning the Manchester United jersey next season, despite rumors of a transfer, with the England international being told to move elsewhere .

Business tycoon Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly plotting a major overhaul of Man Utd's defence this summer, with Raphael Varane on his way out and Victor Lindelof being showcased for a potential sale at Old Trafford , clearing the path for fresh faces.

Leny Yoro has already been snapped up from Lille, and more defensive reinforcements are expected. However, Maguire doesn't believe he's on the chopping block due to these developments.

The England defender has shared that all signs point to him staying put at the Theatre of Dreams, as opposed to being shipped off from Erik ten Hag's squad in the near future to generate cash.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "Until I get told 'you're up for sale' or 'we want you to leave', I want to play for this club and make it successful again. All the things I'm hearing and seeing, from everyone involved, is that I'll be part of this club for the future."

"I'm a player with only a year left on my contract, with an option, but if they come to me and say they don't want me any more, of course, I'll look for options elsewhere, but that's never been told to me."

With Maguire's current deal with United set to expire next summer albeit with a one-year extension clause former Man Utd star Dwight Yorke has hinted that it might be wise to consider selling the former Leicester City man sooner rather than later.

Speaking to BoyleSports, he suggested that Harry Maguire could be a solid acquisition for Chelsea, who are amidst a significant overhaul: "Harry Maguire could sit out the last year of his contract and know he's going to play at some point due to injuries, but United really need to be ruthless and get rid of him."

He added, "Having said that, Maguire has shown that he is very capable of playing at the highest level still and elite clubs like Chelsea, who are trying to rebuild, might take a chance on Maguire. He can clearly still play at the level and a fresh start might just give him that injection to really perform again for another year or two at that top level. So you never know."

He also remarked, "I played until I was 36 so I'm never going to write someone off if they're still in their early 30s. He's still got the attributes to do that. With Thiago Silva leaving Chelsea, there's a gap there for an experienced player like Maguire to move into."
