Post Malone Calls On Luke Combs For New Single “Guy For That”

The Post Malone country era continues... To be honest, I've haven't exactly been overwhelmed by what Post Malone has released so far ahead of his upcoming F-1 Trillion album. Don't get me wrong, every song has been a pop country banger, catchy as all hell, but... when Post was laying down Sturgill covers with Dwight Yoakam's band, rocking Tyler Childers t-shirts, and kicking it with Billy Strings, I was expecting a little more traditional country flavor. Of course, the jury is still out on what the rest of the 18-track record will be like, or who else is even on it, so I remain fairly optimistic that we'll find some really good stuff somewhere in there. Nevertheless, this new one with Luke Combs, "Guy For That," might be my favorite yet. Everything Luke Combs does is gold, so it's no surprise that this one has the makings of a hit. Written by (deep breath) Austin Post, Louis Bell, Charlie Handsome, Luke Combs, James McNair, Ernest Smith, and Hoskins, "Guy For That" is a feel-good, breakup song about having a guy for everything, but nobody that can help bring her back. With some beefy Tele licks, fiddle riffs and steel guitar from the great Paul Franklin, it's got a little bit of that early 2000s country sound that a lot of us grew up on.
