That's one big bear. To be specific, it's grizzly bear 791, and it lives in non other than Yellowstone National Park. The Interagency Grizzly Bear Study Team (IGBST) in Yellowstone does their best to capture and radio-collar a lot of the bear population within the national park in order to track them, and this one in particular is numbered 791. And is estimated to be over 600 pounds, which easily makes it one of the largest bears in the entire park. Its sheer size - along with its massive, sharp claws - helps to explain why it was stirring up so much dust as it trekked down a mountain using a beaten-down path. The grizzly had its eyes set on the Yellowstone river, and thanks to this phenomenal video from "Montana Wild," we got to see its adventure from hillside to river. Well... it actually cut off before we got to see grizzly 791 take a dip, but we'll have to take the wildlife-focused Instagram account at their word. Their caption stated that the big ol' unit of a bear eventually made it down the incline and into the Yellowstone river:
"One of the largest grizzly bears in Yellowstone (probably around 600 pounds) put on a show this morning. We watched as he moved down the bank to the Yellowstone river and took a swim. What a majestic animal." https://www.instagram.com/reel/C93NLccxErn/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Forgive me for my lack of professionalism here, but that bear is HUMONGOUS. Is it inappropriate to call him "King of Yellowstone?" I'd like to see something else stand up against grizzly 791. With those claws - and all of that junk in the trunk to back it up - you'd have to be one brave (or downright stupid) animal to try and cross paths with this sizable grizzly. Looks like I'll be following along for more Grizzly 791 updates now...
