    Mendocino Co.: Grange Fire At 5 Percent Containment, 80 Acres Burned

    Fire crews continue to battle the Grange Fire in the Anderson Valley area of Mendocino County as of Friday morning.

    According to Cal Fire's morning report, the fire has burned 80 acres and is 5 percent contained. Forward progress has been stopped, meaning the fire is no longer growing. One structure was destroyed and five were damaged. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

    The Grange Fire was reported at 3:38 p.m. near the 9800 block of state Highway 128 in Boonville.

    An evacuation order remains in effect for zone MEN-3BON01-B. The area includes Vista Ranch Road, which is closed.

    Evacuation warnings are in place for zones MEN-03PLO02, MEN-03PLO01, MEN-3BON01-A, MEN-3BON02 and MEN-3BON03. The Mendocino County Sheriff's Office requests that residents and businesses be prepared to evacuate if asked. Residents can visit mendoready.org to look up their zone and find more emergency response information.

    The Mendocino County Fairgrounds in Boonville is an evacuation center for evacuees and livestock. Call (707) 272-2299 with questions.

    Evacuees with small animals can take their pets to the Ukiah Animal Shelter at 298 Plant Road in Ukiah. Call (707) 513-7604 upon arrival.

    Both PG&E power and AT&T internet has been restored to the area after outages that started Thursday evening.

    Highway 128 is open to one-lane traffic.

    Cal Fire reports that 150 personnel have responded to the fire from state and local agencies.
