Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa finally has a contract extension with the Miami Dolphins.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport tweeted Friday the Dolphins and Tagovailoa agreed to a 4-year, $212.4 million extension. The deal will make Tagovailoa the third-highest paid quarterback in the NFL on an average annual salary basis .

"The Dolphins and their QB Tua Tagovailoa have a deal!," Rapoport wrote on X (formerly Twitter)

"Sources tell me and Mike Garafolo they've agreed to terms on 4-year $212.4M contract extension to lock him in long-term. At long-last, Miami's franchise QB is paid like it."

Rapoport also included three money bag emojis with his tweet.

Tagovailoa has posted a 32-19 record as the Dolphins starting quarterback. He has registered a winning record in all four of his NFL seasons.

Last year, he led the NFL with 4,624 passing yards. He also had 29 touchdowns and 14 interceptions with a career-high 69.3% completion percentage.

Tagovailoa's new contract is just inside the top 10 in the league in terms of total overall value. But Tagovailoa's deal is the highest value of any 4-year deal in NFL history.

Tagovailoa is also only 26 years old, so he will be about 30 years old when he will be ready for his next contract.
