Bill Ward Weighs In On Potential Black Sabbath Reunion

Is a Black Sabbath reunion a real possibility? The band's former members seem to be on board with playing a final show, as long as their health allows. Drummer Bill Ward was the latest to weigh in on getting the band back together one last time.

"Bill Ward checking in regarding all the updates on a possible Sabbath show in England," he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). "I’m in for playing some of everyone’s old favorites. Loved playing them then, I’d love to play them one last time. I’m not going to talk about my health publicly except to say, everyday I’m pretty good for 76 years old, I’m active musically every day, and I have a very busy and gratifying life."

Ward left the band in 2012, citing an "unreasonable contract," and was not part of the metal legends' 2016/17 reunion.

His comments come after Geezer Butler said he and Ozzy Osbourne "have agreed" to play one more show . “Of course there’s an interest [on my part to do it], but there’s a big ‘but’ — you’d have to speak to Bill [Ward] about it,” he said in May. “Everybody wants to do it [but I don’t know if he is] capable [of pulling it off].”

“ Ozzy was hoping to finish it all off next year back in Aston, at the Aston Villa [football stadium in Birmingham],” the former Black Sabbath bassist added. “I’m definitely up for it, to finish the whole thing off. … Me and Ozzy have agreed, but I’m not sure about anybody else.”

Tony Iommi has also expressed interest in playing a final show— as long as everyone's healthy enough to do it .
