DOYLESTOWN, PA—Two prosecutors were given honors by the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office for their outstanding public service. Bucks County District Attorney Jennifer Schorn presented the awards at the department’s annual awards ceremony on Thursday night.
Deputy District Attorney John T. Fegley received the department’s award for Exceptional Public Service. Fegley joined the district attorney’s office in January of 2022 and serves as its Chief of Appeals.
Fegley previously served in the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office from 2014 to 2017 overseeing appeals. He also worked in district attorney’s offices in Berks County and Philadelphia.
“You have been a keystone in maintaining convictions,” Schorn told Fegley.
Assistant District Attorney David E. O’Beirne was given the office’s Outstanding Performance award. He is a member of the Special Victims Unit, which handles cases involving sexual assault, domestic abuse, and crimes against children, the elderly and people with disabilities. O’Beirne is also part of the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) program, which is a pre-trial intervention program for first-time offenders.
O’Beirne joined the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office in 2020 after graduating from Charleston School of Law. Schorn said that O’Beirne is a great team player and will “run through a brick wall for us. We all work so hard, and the fact that your peers chose you as someone deserving of this award” says a lot, Schorn added.
