Showers dissipate ahead of sunny, mostly dry weekend

(PINPOINT WEATHER) — Good evening, and happy FriYay! As we close out the week and head into the weekend, we are finally getting into a period, albeit brief, of drier weather for the region. Showers and storms will return on Monday and will continue into the middle of the week before drier and scorching weather returns to the region.

As for you Friday night and Saturday, what showers we have this evening should fade as we head into the later evening hours with dry weather expected overnight. Saturday looks dry and slightly less humid across the region, with just an isolated shower or storm expected up into the mountains. Highs on Saturday will be in the mid- to upper-80s.

We expect more of the same Sunday, with even more sunshine and highs in the upper 80s. Heading into next week, we expect showers and storms for Monday and Tuesday, with highs in the mid-80s, along with rising humidity returning to the Carolinas. We should dry out for the middle of the week, but as we dry out, temperatures will be on the rise, with mid-90s possible for the second half of the week.

In the meantime, enjoy the quieter weather this weekend! Have a great weekend!
