    Kentucky corrections officer dies during special response training

    DANVILLE, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — The Northpoint Training Center (NTC) for the Department of Corrections is mourning the loss of one of its officers.

    According to the Kentucky non-profit Supporting Heroes, 24-year-old Hunter Miller collapsed during a physical fitness test while training for the special response team.

    LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

    Miller was taken to an area hospital, where he later died, per Supporting Heroes. He had served the Kentucky Department of Corrections for two years.

    “We are very sad to report that today we have lost a brother, Officer Hunter Miller. Officer Miller was a Special Management Unit Officer who took great pride in his job,” the NTC said on Facebook . “Officer Miller was a very respected officer, and he will truly be missed. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers, as well as his DOC family.”

    “Rest our brother, we will all take it from here,” the NTC signed off.
