LAVACA COUNTY, Texas - A mass casualty incident training drill will take place on Aug. 2 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Hallettsville Brahma Memorial Stadium parking lot. The training will involve Lavaca Medical Center and Lavaca County EMS, along with local emergency response agencies and Hallettsville ISD.

The drill will simulate a school bus accident. The mock accident will be located on the west side of the parking lot. The entire parking lot will be blocked off and not accessible to the public during the training drill.

"This exercise is intended to assess the emergency preparedness of Lavaca County First Responders, Lavaca Medical Center, and our area mutual aid partners to respond to an incident involving multiple victims/patients," said Lavaca County Emergency Management Coordinator Greg Murrile. "The Friday morning schedule for this drill will allow for a strong mutual aid response and will provide an opportunity to test, exercise, evaluate, and refine our emergency response protocols and incident command functions during a mass casualty incident."
