    Bridge repairs to slow down traffic for 1 week on Hwy 99 around Merced County

    MERCED COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) –  Bridge maintenance on Hwy 99 is expected to slow down traffic in Merced County starting Sunday.

    According to CalTrans, the week-long over-crossing maintenance will last until Aug. 2. Repair crews say they will be conducting construction overnight to alleviate traffic stress.

    The following over-crossings will be affected as follows:

    • One-way traffic control on the Le Grand Road Over-Crossing from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
    • One-way traffic control on the Childs Avenue Over-Crossing from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
    • One-way traffic control on the Franklin Road Over-Crossing starting at 8 p.m.
    • Full off-ramp closure on northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 99 at Le Grand Road Over-Crossing from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

    In addition to over-crossing maintenance, crews will be conducting crack and seal operations. The following areas will be affected as follows:

    • Full off-ramp closure on southbound Highway 99 at Plainsburg Road between July 29 and July 30 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • Full on-ramp closure on northbound Highway 99 at Plainsburg Road on July 31 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • Full on- and off-ramp closures on northbound Highway 99 at Westside Boulevard on Aug. 1 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
