WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Wichita fire crews were on the scene of a duplex fire in west Wichita on Friday night.

The call came in around 9:07 p.m. from the 700 block of S. Custer. The Wichita Fire Department said they received a report that a person was trapped in a duplex that was on fire.

The WFD said after crews arrived on the scene, they found that all the occupants of the home were able to self-evacuate.

Crews found heavy flames from the north side of the duplex upon arrival. They attacked the fire and got it extinguished while other crews searched the home and found no one inside.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
