Kysre Gondrezick, the former 4th pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft, recently called out a fan on Instagram who mocked her career averages.

    Kysre Gondrezick: "Learning. Rocket nation."

Fan: "You average 1 point in the WNBA lil bro and you was a high draft pick."

Ksyre Gondrezick: "& you average 24 hours on a fan account."

The exchange began when Gondrezick shared a message about learning, and a fan sarcastically pointed out her low scoring average in the WNBA, referencing her high draft pick status. In response, Gondrezick pointed out the fan's excessive time spent on a fan account, highlighting their lack of productivity.

Gondrezick's professional journey has had its challenges. She was drafted by the Indiana Fever but was waived by the team in January 2022. Over her WNBA career, she has averaged 1.7 points, 0.9 rebounds, and 0.8 assists.

In the current season, while with the Chicago Sky, she averaged 1.0 points, 0.4 rebounds, and 0.4 assists over five games. After limited playtime totaling just 18 minutes, Gondrezick was released by the Sky, marking her second release from a team in the league.

The fan's comment not only criticized her on-court performance but also opened the door to broader speculation about her support for the Houston Rockets. Gondrezick had a past relationship with former Rockets player Kevin Porter Jr ., who made headlines in September 2023 following his arrest on charges of domestic violence .

This incident led to the Houston Rockets trading Porter Jr. to the Oklahoma City Thunder , who subsequently waived him. Despite recently signing a $82.5 million contract extension, the charges resulted in Porter losing his NBA contract, though he will make over $16 million in the next two years.

The legal case against Porter Jr. was eventually dropped after he signed a plea deal. He later played a season with the Greek club Panathinaikos before making his return to the NBA, signing with the Los Angeles Clippers this offseason.

Gondrezick's pointed response to her critic underscores her resilience in the face of adversity. Despite the setbacks in her professional career, she remains focused on her development and learning, as indicated in her Instagram post. Her journey reflects the broader narrative of athletes who, despite public scrutiny and personal challenges, continue to strive for growth and improvement.
