HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Breckinridge County educator, Dr. Nick Carter, was named the 2025 Superintendent of the Year by the Kentucky Association of School Administrators.

Officials say a panel conducts a selection process to determine the Superintendent of the Year and the nominees for the award are evaluated based on four criteria: leadership for training, communication, professionalism and community involvement.

Dr. Carter’s nominator says, “He has fostered respectful relationships with staff, students, parents, and the community, always upholding confidentiality and demonstrating professionalism through clear and thoughtful communication. His ability to brainstorm solutions and his willingness to help other administrators grow through example, encouragement and trust are highly commendable.”

Dr. Carter will go on to compete for the National Superintended of the Year award.
