LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office says the inmate who escaped Saturday afternoon has been located.

On Sunday, July 28 around 5:30 a.m., the sheriff’s office said David Alan Wright was found.

Authorities say Wright escaped when he climbed a razor-wire fence after finishing his exercise at around 1:30 p.m. Saturday. It was not noticed that he was gone until feeding time, around 4:30 p.m.

He had lacerations on his arms from escaping when he was found, and he will receive medical treatment before returning to the Lawrence County Jail.

LCSO says Wright was in jail for kidnapping and giving false information to law enforcement. Authorities say the kidnapping charge came when Wright held one of his roommates against their will and threatened to hurt them.

The sheriff’s office said the roommate was notified of Wright’s escape.
