A horrifying bodycam video has provided disturbing insights into the severe abuse suffered by a three-year-old child at the hands of her own mother, Rabyah Muballigh, in Ohio. Muballigh was handed a stiff sentence of anywhere between seven to ten-and-a-half years in the Ohio Reformatory for Women, after authorities found her malnourished baby girl who only weighed 16 lbs, amid squalid surroundings filled with waste.

The local police were alerted to the horrific living environment by an alarmed tip-off about a child suffering from breathing difficulties. When they arrived at the ghastly flat, they were taken aback by the shocking state of the place. As they went through the home shouting out for any occupants and receiving no answer, the officers walked into rooms that were loaded with trash, invaded by insects, and dotted with dead bugs , reports the Mirror US .

In one of the back bedrooms, they discovered a young girl who was not moving and was covered in insect bites. She was lying next to a grimy bed, according to reports by the Express US. One officer, upon realizing that the child was still breathing, can be heard on the bodycam footage hurriedly saying, "Oh, she's still breathing, let's go let's go."

Paramedics arrived in the nick of time and immediately rushed the toddler to the hospital where doctors identified her as "extremely malnourished" and admitted her to the ICU. After weeks of treatment, the girl finally began showing signs of recovery.

Reacting to the traumatic case, Greene County Prosecuting Attorney David D Hayes reveals in an official statement, "This is the worst case of child abuse I've seen in my twenty-year career.

"Muballigh is going to prison for several years, as she should. Her primary responsibility was to care for that child and she failed to do that and caused that child serious physical harm. Many parents feel overwhelmed and many parents need help. If you find yourself in a situation where you can't handle it, reach out to the many organizations that can provide assistance."

Once the child had been discovered, Muballigh was caught outside her flat and placed in a patrol vehicle. She implored the officers: "Do you know anything about the condition, if she's okay?"

An officer answered back: "I do not. Right now you're being arrested for child endangerment at a felony level." She then asked, "At a felony level? " before sobbing.

The child's father, Corel Michael Moody, will also face charges in October, having been indicted for child endangerment, blocking justice, and tampering with evidence.
