Backpack giveaway at local Verizon stores; How can you participate

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) — As part of the nationwide Schools Rock Backpack Giveaway, local Verizon Wireless stores are equipping kids with free backpacks on Sunday.

Round Room, LLC , a Verizon authorized retailer, organized this giveaway in order to help alleviate families’ financial burden during the back-to-school season. Since the event’s creation in 2013, Round Room has been able to provide 1.3 million kids with a new backpack.

Beyond backpacks, 10 “Golden Ruler” winners will receive a $100 gift card for personal use, and $1,000 for their school.

Auburn, Huntington and Kendallville will have clear backpacks available. Many locations will have additional entertainment including dunk tanks, obstacle courses and more.
