Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant has been cleared to play in Team USA's Olympic opener against Nikola Jokic and Team Serbia on Sunday, per Shams Charania.

Durant worked through a calf injury that had him sidelined for Olympic camp and during international exhibition games.

He joins some of the best players in the world, including league veterans LeBron James and Stephen Curry, as well as up-and-coming stars Anthony Edwards and Tyrese Haliburton.

Team USA will tip-off against Team Serbia on Sunday at 11:15 a.m. ET, playing in Group C of the men's tournament.

With the addition of Durant, the United States now has one of the most lethal scoring weapons the game has ever seen. The 6-foot-11 star averaged 27.1 points and 6.6 rebounds during the 2023-24 season for the Suns. He also ranked as the No. 5 scorer in the NBA last season.

The 35-year-old veteran is the highest-scoring player in men's Olympic basketball history (435 points). He entered the 2024 Paris Olympics as one of the most decorated Team USA basketball players in the history of the international games.

Durant is a three-time Olympic gold medalist , securing gold in 2012, 2016 and 2020. The two-time NBA champion could become the first men's basketball player in Olympic history to secure four gold medals, as he's currently tied with Carmelo Anthony.
