Veterans LeBron James and Kevin Durant led the USA Men's Basketball to a 110-84 win in their opening Group C game against Serbia at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Sunday (July 28).

James, 39, a two-time gold medalist (2008 Beijing, 2012 London) and one-time bronze medalist (2004 Athens), finished with 21 points (9-13 shooting), nine assists and seven rebounds.

Durant, 35, the all-time leading scorer in Olympic play, recorded 23 points and two rebounds. The three-time gold medalist (2012 London, 2016 Rio de Janeiro, 2020 Tokyo) was officially ruled as active about an hour before the game and entered off the bench after missing all five of Team USA's pre-Olympic exhibition games due to a calf strain.

"Having coached him before, he’s one of the few guys I’ve been around who can step back out on the court and look like Kevin Durant, a player of his caliber," USA Basketball head coach Steve Kerr said on Saturday (July 27) via USA TODAY . "Most players it would take some time to get your rhythm back, and it will, too, for him to a certain extent. But he’s pretty special."

The Americans jumped out to a 58-49 lead at halftime before outscoring the Serbians, 52-35, in the second half. USA Basketball has won gold at each of the past four Olympic games.
