Overturned tractor-trailer closes all lanes on Ashcake Road in Hanover County

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — An overturned tractor-trailer has closed all lanes on Ashcake Road in Hanover County.

At around 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, the Virginia Department of Transportation reported that all east and west lanes were closed on Ashcake Road, near Egypt Road, in Hanover County due to a tractor-trailer crash.

According to the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office , there is an accident involving an overturned tractor-trailer on Ashcake Road near Egypt Road, between Sliding Hill Road and Lewistown Road.

A spokesperson from the office told 8News that there were no injuries and they are estimating a one to two hour timespan to get the trailer unloaded and upright. The driver did not realize that Ashcake Road was unsuitable for tractor-trailers and flipped over trying to turn around.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area until further notice.
