Simone Biles’ Serious Message To Jade Carey After Heartbreaking Fall In Olympics

Sunday was full of highs and lows for Team USA gymnastics at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The entire women's artistic team took first place in the all-around qualifiers with 172.926 points, nearly six points ahead of Italy. Not only that, but Simone Biles and Suni Lee are the individual all-around leaders in points, securing a spot in the finals.

But a big story from the day's qualifiers was Jade Carey's fall in the women's floor event. This mishap led Carey to receive a score of 10.633, good for 74th overall in the event.

Being the veteran on the team, Biles consoled Carey immediately after the unfortunate mistake.

Carey is no rookie to the floor event at the Olympics. In fact, in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she won gold in the very same event that caused her issues this year. Unfortunately for Carey, she will not get the chance to defend her floor title with the score she received.

Carey later took to social media to explain the reasoning behind the fall, citing that she "hasn't been feeling the best the past few days." The 24-year-old star also noted that she gave everything she had.

Despite Jordan Chiles receiving the fourth-highest all-around score, only Biles and Lee will advance to the all-around finals due to the Olympics' two-athletes-per-country rule.

The women's all-around finals will begin on Thursday, August 1, at 12:15 p.m. ET.
