Teen killed, 3 injured after stolen car runs red light, causing crash in Montgomery County

A teenager died and three others were injured Monday morning after a crash involving a stolen car in Montgomery County.

It happened around 5 a.m. at the intersection of Stenton and E. Evergreen avenues in Springfield Township, Pennsylvania.

Officers responded to the scene for reports of a two-car crash with passengers trapped inside the vehicles.

At the scene, authorities found a 15-year-old who had been ejected from one of the cars. The teen was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two passengers who were in the same car as the teenager were removed by emergency crews. They were transported to Jefferson Einstein Montgomery where their conditions are unknown.

Another person in the other vehicle was transported to Jefferson Abington Hospital in an unknown condition.

According to police, a white 2014 Infiniti QX80 was traveling on Stenton Avenue when it collided with a red 2020 Hyundai Elantra, which had gone through a red light.

Police also said the Hyundai was reported stolen out of Philadelphia.

There is no word yet on the Hyundai's driver or whether charges have been filed.
