(FOX40.COM) — Four people were rescued and hospitalized after their vehicle drove off the side of Foresthill Road and plummeted 100 feet in Placer County on Friday, according to the Foresthill Fire Protection District.

The crash occurred just after 12:30 p.m. when a Jeep reportedly rolled over several times as it fell around 100 feet near Elliot Ranch Road and Foresthill Road in remote Placer County.

Initial crews on the scene immediately requested additional resources due to the difficulty of the terrain and the complex nature of the crash, according to the fire protection district.

Three air ambulances, one rescue helicopter, a technical rescue team, three ground ambulances, an additional fire engine and command officers were requested to respond to the call.

The current condition of the four patients is unknown at this time.
