The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department :

    • On July 24, a deputy was dispatched regarding a domestic dispute at a Kofahl Road residence at Licking.

The officer made contact with a 23-year-old woman there who said she had been arguing with her 44-year-old mother over the use of an EBT card. The woman said her mother had thrown her property into the yard and thrown rotten milk on her.

She said she went outside and punched a tree out of anger, and the deputy observed a dark and swollen bruise on her hand and requested an EMS response to the residence.

The officer then made contact with the mother, and she confirmed the argument over the card. She also told the deputy that her daughter had tried to attack her, and she defended herself by throwing a glass of milk at her.

The daughter was taken to a hospital and said she wouldn’t return. Neither woman wished to pursue charges.

    • On June 16, a 51-year-old Houston woman reported a violation of a protection order.

The woman told an investigating deputy that she went to Ozark Baptist Church east of Houston to attend her daughter’s baptism and a 54-year-old Houston man violated the order by being within 1,000 feet of her.

    • A 66-year-old man reported on July 19 that a 2022 Massimo 550 ATV valued at $11,000 had been stolen from his Samoa Road residence near Houston.

The man told a deputy he didn’t know who might have taken it.

    • Douglas Harrison, 48, of Russell Drive in Cabool, was arrested July 25 for having an active Texas County warrant for a felony driving while revoked charge and misdemeanor vehicular offense charges.

A deputy made the arrest at Harrison’s residence and took him to jail. Cash-only bond on the warrant was set at $2,000.

    • On July 27, a deputy was dispatched regarding a domestic disturbance at a Harlow Road residence at Mountain View involving a 56-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman.

After investigating, the deputy arrested both people and took them to the Texas County Jail. Probable cause statements were sent to the county prosecutor seeking assault charges against each of them.

    • On July 26, a deputy was dispatched regarding a report of a domestic dispute at a Morton Road residence in Houston.

After investigating, the officer arrested a 19-year-old woman and took her to jail. A probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor seeking an assault charge against her.
