United States Olympic gymnast Simone Biles was the star of the show in the 2024 Paris Olympics qualifying round. Team USA stars Jordan Chiles and Suni Lee had phenomenal performances on Sunday, but Biles proved to be a step ahead of her competition and teammates.

Biles finished the qualifying round in first place with a combined score of 59.566 after having successful rounds in her vault attempts. That counts for the highest score that any gymnast has received in this Olympic cycle.

Following her advancement into the Olympic Games, her husband, Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens, spoke on her performance on Good Morning Football.

Owens congratulated his wife while giving her extra motivation since he'll soon be cheering her on in Paris, France.

"Baby, I can't wait to see you. A couple of more days and I'll be there. So congrats and keep going. Good luck, baby. I love you so much," Owens said on July 29.

According to Chicago Bears writer Gabby Hajduk , Owens has been cleared to leave NFL training camp on July 29 in preparation for his flight to Paris. The Bears reporter mentioned that Owens will be in attendance for the team final on July 30 and the all-around final on Aug. 1, set to return to Chicago on Aug. 3.

Biles' team final on July 30 will be at 12:15 p.m. ET, and the individual event finals are currently scheduled between Aug. 3-5.

The United States holds a strong lead in the team rankings, earning a score of 172.296 in the qualifying round, with their closest competitor being Italy, at 166.861 points.

Biles led the USA with exquisite scores in the vault and beam competitions. She earned a 15.300 score in her second vault attempt and a 14.733 on the beam.

As Biles helped the United States secure the No. 1 ranking, her husband, who she once called her "best supporter," was watching from home, but he'll be in the stands for her next performance.
