Fulham and Arsenal agree deal for Emile Smith Rowe worth £34 million

Fulham have reportedly agreed a deal with Arsenal for Emile Smith Rowe as they look to sign the 24-year-old.

It's been hinted throughout the summer transfer window that Smith Rowe was one of the players that the Gunners were looking to offload to raise funds.

It had previously been reported that Arsenal rejected a £30 million bid from Fulham, however, according to Sky Sports they have agreed on a deal worth around £34 million.

Crystal Palace were among the other clubs rumored to be interested in the midfield but it now appears that Marco Silva's men have won the race to sign the Englishman.

When will Smith Rowe sign for Fulham?

It is yet to be reported whether or not Smith Rowe has agreed to personal terms. The deal cannot go through just yet as Fulham must wait for the player to pass his medical.

He scored in Arsenal's clash with Leyton Orient before being included in the 28-man squad for the United States trip.

Fulham are also in America for their preseason fixtures therefore the medical could take place stateside, however, no date has been confirmed as to when that may take place.

His arrival at Craven Cottage would see the club set a new transfer fee record for a signing, surpassing the £25 million Fulham spent on Jean Michael Seri six years ago.

The £35 million received would also equal Arsenal's record sale and it's a sum that reflects the investment Arsenal made on him as they brought him through the academy.

Smith Rowe remains highly regarded by Arsenal supporters but has understandably become frustrated with the lack of regular playing time.

With two years remaining on his current contract at the Emirates, he struggled with injuries last season and subsequently lost his starting spot due to the likes of Leandro Trossard, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Martinelli.
