    Woman charged with shooting in Columbia County

    CONYNGHAM TWP. COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A woman is facing numerous charges after police say she fired multiple shots around a Columbia County neighborhood.

    According to Pennsylvania State Police, on July 22 around 9:30 p.m., troopers were called to the 120 block of Middle Avenue in Conyngham Township for an active shooter.

    Troopers said they heard a woman identified as Ashley Gregis, 39, had a .45 caliber handgun and was actively shooting with it.

    PSP stated they found Gregis inside a house and she was arrested on the scene. Gregis admitted to firing multiple shots that went through windows and walls hitting neighboring houses, police say.

    A search warranted seized two AR-style rifles, three handguns, and spent casings.

    Gregis was taken to the Columbia County Prison and charged with recklessly endangering another person, discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, and other related offenses.
