    What countries are the same size as Louisiana?

    BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Have you ever wondered how big the state of Louisiana is compared to the rest of the world?

    Within the United States, Louisiana is certainly not the biggest in size, especially when compared to neighboring Texas which is the second-largest state with 261,193.9 square miles of land.

    U.S. Census data for the state shows that Louisiana’s land area is 43,193.1 square miles with a population of 4,657,757.

    According to the World Population Review , when compared with other countries, Louisiana’s size is similar to Greece, Nicaragua, Tajikistan, Nepal and Bangladesh.

    In comparison to the United States’ biggest state, Louisiana has 7.87% of Alaska’s land area. It’s 12.7 times bigger than the boot, according to the website.
