The U.S. and Guinea have everything to play for ahead of the final group stage match at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
The U.S. Men's National Team takes on Guinea at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in Saint-Étienne, France in an all-important encounter. The U.S. can secure qualification to the knockout stages with a draw (and a New Zealand defeat or draw to France), or with a win.
Guinea meanwhile needs to beat the U.S., France to defeat New Zealand, and to overcome the negative goal difference.
The U.S. offense burst into life against New Zealand with three first-half goals, and a team on the front foot. Walker Zimmerman and Gianluca Busio were both quicker to loose balls in the box than their opponents, a good sign for the team's mentality going forward.
The U.S. however may be without Busio after he was withdrawn in the first half due to injury, and it will be a big decision for U.S. coach Marko Mitrovic on how he chooses to replace him.

USMNT vs. Guinea lineups, team news
Gianluca Busio scored the USA's third goal in the 4-1 win over New Zealand, but was substituted shortly after with an injury. He remains a doubt against Guinea and we could see Jack McGlynn take his spot. Additionally, Tanner Tessmann picked up a yellow card and now risks suspension should the U.S. advance. He will have to be very careful against Guinea and perhaps Mitrovic could rest him or take him off early before he picks up a card.

Guinea is led by captain Naby Keita, formerly of Liverpool, though he picked up a yellow card in the last match and faces a yellow card accumulation suspension in the next round if they can make it. Guinea has only managed one goal in two games and they'll need to score a couple to defeat a U.S. offense that looks confident right now.

The U.S. faces a tough test, though coach Mitrovic can go into the match with some confidence — his U.S. squad won a friendly, 3-0, against a Guinea U-23 side this spring. With the knockout stages on the line, the U.S. should have enough to draw or even win and advance.
