Despite focusing on Team USA's quest for gold at the 2024 Olympics, Stephen Curry made some time to show support for the U.S. women's volleyball team as they faced China in their opening game. Curry wanted to make sure that he could provide some words of wisdom and encouragement to the athletes ahead of their game.

Curry has been making the most of his first time at the Olympics this year. Yesterday, he shared an awesome video that gave fans an inside glimpse into what the Olympic opening ceremony was like, sharing pictures with members of Team USA, and other members of the U.S. Olympic contingent.

Curry has made his mark with Team USA at the Olympics. Curry started for Team USA in their opener against Serbia, Curry put up 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists, as they decimated Serbia by 26 points in a 110-84 win. Now Team USA will shift their focus to South Sudan, whom they face tomorrow.

After the challenge that South Sudan posed to them in their Olympic showcase game, Curry and Team USA will be locked in, making sure that they don't get caught on the back foot again. South Sudan has shown that they are not a team to be taken lightly, especially after their win over Puerto Rico.

Curry will be relied upon to have a big game against South Sudan, as they will need his outside shooting and scoring against a team that has the size and interior presence to match up against some of the best big men the U.S. has.

Is Stephen Curry Team USA's MVP?

Stephen Curry is invaluable to Team USA at the Olympics. His shooting presence and passing ability make the team incredibly dangerous, as Curry can spot up from three, or pass the ball to another teammate for a smart basketball play and cause damage to the opponent's defense.

Curry is coming off a difficult year with the Warriors. While he averaged 26.4 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.5 rebounds, the Warriors made the play-in tournament and got eliminated by the Pelicans. This is such a sharp turnaround from two years ago when the Warriors ruled atop the league as the NBA champions.

With the disappointment in his NBA career still fresh on his mind, Curry would like to compensate for that by winning his first Olympic gold medal. Curry is getting his first, and presumably last opportunity to represent Team USA at the Olympics, and he will want to make sure that he strikes gold with the opportunity he gets.

With Steve Kerr being the head coach, Curry has an advantage over many of his teammates, as he understands his playing style and offensive-defensive schemes better than almost anyone else on the team. If Curry is the offensive juggernaut we know he can be during the tournament, Team USA can make it five gold medals in a row this year.
