Simone Biles Reveals Secret To Olympic Success

Simone Biles has had a successful run at the 2024 Olympics so far, and it might be in large part due to the recent change she made to her habits.

Prior to the start of the 2024 Olympics, Biles revealed in an interview with Today that she would limit her social media use during the event. In particular, she shared her plan to stay away from X (formerly called Twitter) to avoid all the negativity that the platform brings.

"Limiting social media and stuff like that is going to be (important)," Biles explained.

She added, "Insta is good. It’s a good way to connect. It’s a way to share what we’re going through. And TikTok. I’ve tried to make a little more TikToks, I’m not the greatest at that. I’m learning."

Biles last posted on X on July 17. However, she has been active on Instagram, constantly posting updates even during the Olympics.

By the looks of it, the strategy has worked for Biles. Despite suffering a calf injury on the first day of the gymnastics event, she looked happy and still dominated. It's clear the health setback didn't bother her, and the pressure didn't get to her.

The USA Gymnastics legend recorded an overall score of 59.566 to top the all-around leaderboard. Biles got 15.300 on the vault-- highlighted by her Yurchenko double pike --and 14.600 on the floor exercise. Both numbers were the best scores during the women's qualification.

Biles was second on the balance beam with 14.733, just behind China's Zhao Yaqin (14.866). She had 14.333 on the uneven bars. She's now headed to the all-around final and remains one of the favorites to win gold.
