COLUMBUS — The Ohio Arts Council has awarded seven grants to Richland County arts organizations and programs as part of an historic allocation of 935 grants statewide.
The Richland County grants are as follows:
- Renaissance Performing Arts Association Inc. - $9,576 Arts Partnership grant
- Renaissance Performing Arts Association Inc. - $41,713 Sustainability grant
- Leapyear Studios - $17,386 ArtsNEXT grant
- Leapyear Studios - $4,022 ArtSTART grant
- Mansfield Fine Arts Guild Inc. - $26,767 Sustainability grant
- Richland Academy of the Arts - $34,353 Sustainability grant
- Madison Comprehensive High School/Madison Local Schools - $14,000 TeachARTSOhio grant
Arts Partnership grants support arts education projects that address the needs of individual learners and their communities. ArtsNEXT grants are competitive grants that provide funding for innovative and experimental projects. Sustainability grants support ongoing arts and cultural activities in all genres. ArtSTART grants help mostly new and emerging organizations complete short-term projects. TeachArtsOhio brings schools and community organizations together with teaching artists for up to a full school year.
In all, the Ohio Arts Council (OAC) board recently approved $22,704,702 in grants to support Ohio artists, nonprofits, arts and cultural organizations, students and educators, and public arts programming. This marks the largest single round of grant awards (935) distributed to OAC funding applicants in the agency’s history, directly funding arts programming in all 88 Ohio counties.
These grants stem from the state’s 2024-2025 operating budget, which included a state appropriation of nearly $51.1 million for the OAC over the two-year period.
