Jets QB Aaron Rodgers Not Pleased With Team During Practice

The New York Jets have started up training camp, and as they prepare for what they hope to be a bounce back season, they will need their offense to be much better than it was in 2023. Fortunately for the Jets, they have Aaron Rodgers back on the field as the starting quarterback, which will help with a lot of those issues that we saw from last season.

However, while the quarterback position was an issue for the Jets last year, it wasn’t the only problem on offense. The Jets had issues at both wide receiver and along the offensive line last season, but the front office did what appears to be a good job on paper to fix some of those holes.

Aaron Rodgers is setting a high bar for the Jets

With training camp underway, the Jets’ offense did not have a good practice the other day, and Rodgers was quite vocal about the disappointing performance.

Here’s what Allen Lazard had to say about Rodgers’ reaction to the struggles on offense.

“I would say ‘demonstrative’ is a good word for him,” said Lazard, Rodgers’ former Green Bay Packers teammate (via ESPN). “You’re talking about one of the best, if not the best quarterback of all time, and his standard and level of play is something a lot of guys haven’t seen yet. Even this organization — they haven’t really been with him on game day, because being with him on the sideline on a Sunday is different.”

“Honestly, he expects the same standard that he holds himself to out of everyone else, and today just didn’t resemble that at all. I think as an offense we were just a little bit sloppy.”

As a MVP and Super Bowl winner, it is good to see Rodgers getting a bit chippy with the team and fired up, as the Jets need to be better than they were last season. Rodgers taking on the leadership role for the offense is great, as the unit does have the potential to be quite good this season as long as he is healthy.

Eliminating some of the silly mistakes now will only make the Jets better in the long run, especially if Rodgers is holding his teammates accountable.

Hopefully, Rodgers can remain healthy this season for the Jets, as they will be a much different team with him on the field leading the charge. Furthermore, as someone who knows what it takes to win, the Jets should be listening carefully to Aaron Rodgers.
