Taylor Swift 's world traveling landed her a special connection to Liverpool , only a 45-minute drive from Southport.

Southport was recently the location of a true tragedy after a man, who has since been arrested, viciously stabbed a group of children at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class. Merseyside Police provided an update on Monday: "We can confirm that a 17-year-old male from Banks, who was arrested in connection to the stabbing in Southport this morning, Monday 29 July, remains in police custody and will be questioned about the incident. At this early stage, enquiries are ongoing to establish the motive for this tragic incident and we would urge people not to speculate while the investigation is ongoing."

While Taylor wasn't in town, she was nearby not too long ago. In fact, Liverpool was renamed Taylor Town for her June 13, 14, and 15 Eras Tour dates.

Her time in Liverpool was particularly special for the city as she emotionally made an announcement about the tour. It was her 100th show of the tour and she definitely was feeling the reality weigh down on her. She said: "This is the very first time I've ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is going to end in December."

Plus, she shattered the attendance record at the venue. Taylor added: "So, I just want to say, those things mean the world to us getting to play this show for people who would go so far above and beyond for us and welcome us to Liverpool in such a fashion. We love you so much and, you know, while I was walking to the stage, they pulled me aside and told me another thing you did for us tonight.

"And that thing is that you, you broke the all time attendance record for this stadium tonight. Don't you just love knowing there's never been as many people in this room as there are right now? I, personally, love that feeling."

Plus, while in town, Taylor made a charitable donation, a signature move for the touring artist. She made a donation to the local food banks in Liverpool.

Now, months after the tour dates, Taylor still feels love for the region. She chimed in and expressed her heartbreak over the stabbing. She wrote on Instagram: "The horror of yesterday's attack in Southport is washing over me continuously and I'm just completely in shock.

"The loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families, and first responders. These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families."
