Las Vegas Raiders' new weapon is already making players look silly at training camp

The Las Vegas Raiders went into the 2024 NFL draft with the quarterback on their mind. But because of so many being taken before their pick at No. 13, they were forced to go a different direction.

They instead went with the best player available, and that best player available just so happened to be the best player in the entire draft, but a guy who just doesn't get that recognition because of the position he plays.

Luckily, drafting tight end Brock Bowers also made sense because the Raiders needed so much help on the offensive side of the ball. Their offense was terrible last season, and since they didn't grab a quarterback, the Raiders are putting weapons around the QB position to help out.

While training camp hasn't gotten off to a great start in terms of the quarterback battle, we are seeing Bowers help out already. In fact, we are seeing him do some things you don't see a lot of rookies do. Bowers is surprising people at camp because of his speed, as tight ends are not supposed to move the way he does.

And then you see some of the plays he is making, and it makes even more sense why the Raiders couldn't pass on Bowers to take a cornerback or an offensive tackle.

At camp, he is already making other players look silly. there is one specific play from Monday's practice, which was the last day before the pads come on, where Bowers rose up and mossed a defender, or grabbed it over him, making that defender look a little silly.

We have seen Michael Mayer's ability to get vertical in the end zone -- his touchdown catch against the New York Jets last season -- so to have two guys who can do that, and then Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers, this offense should be much better in the red zone than they were before.
