Simone Biles and Team USA Wins Gold Medal During The 2024 Paris Olympics

Simone Biles and her U.S. women’s gymnastics team won the gold medal in the team finals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, following a recent injury scare.

This victory not only marked their first medal of the games but also showcased an impressive comeback for both Biles and Team USA. On Tuesday, the women’s artistic gymnastics team final occurred at Bercy Arena, with Simone Biles competing alongside her American teammates Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, and Sunisa Lee. Biles participated in the uneven bars, vault, balance beam, and floor exercise events during the competition.

Team USA was the clear favorite to win the women’s artistic gymnastics team final, having previously secured consecutive gold medals at the Summer Games in London and Rio in 2012 and 2016, as well as a silver medal in team competition at the Tokyo Olympics.

Biles clinched her 8th Olympic medal, outshining Shannon Miller to claim the title of the most accomplished American gymnast in history. At the age of 27, Biles secured her first gold in the Paris Olympics, making her the oldest American female gymnast to achieve this feat. She surpassed Aly Raisman, who was previously the record holder, by five years.

With the team competition wrapped up, attention now shifts to the upcoming individual finals set to kick off on Thursday. Both Lee and Biles have secured spots to contend for gold in the all-around event, with Lee also qualifying for the beam and bars finals. Chiles will be competing in the floor final, while Carey is set to compete in the vault event. Additionally, Biles has also qualified for the vault, beam, and floor competitions, presenting her with the opportunity to go for four more medals in the games.
