Travis and Jason Kelce are reportedly looking for a massive podcast payday. Who can blame them? Since the two football playing brothers (Jason is now retired) fired up their New Heights podcast, it's been one of the most popular and most listened to podcasts in the entire industry. They average over 1.92 million listeners per episode now, and you have to assume that number is helped out some by the "Taylor Swift effect." The show full of brotherly love and sports commentary currently ranks fourth in podcasts by audience, and it's undoubtedly one of the biggest shows on the planet - even though Jason and Kelce only release one episode per week. It could easily continue to grow, with Jason Kelce now retired from playing football and able to dedicate more time to the podcast. Kansas City star Travis Kelce might not be too far behind him retirement wise, as he'll turn 35-years-old this upcoming season. Luckily for them, they've got this massive and wildly successful podcast to fall back on, and they are really trying to get their money's worth out of it. According to the
Wall Street Journal , the Kelce brothers have been shopping their show around, and even contacted Wondery (a podcast company owned by Amazon) allegedly looking for a $100 million deal to bring New Heights to their network. https://twitter.com/_MLFootball/status/1818368633762201727 Not much is known about how that $100 million deal would work, but that's a pretty crazy number considering that Jason and Kelce just fired this podcast up in September of 2022. Talk about capitalizing on their fame and popularity... especially if this nine-figure payday eventually pays off. Both Kelce brothers clearly have their careers post-football tied up in media opportunities. Jason is set to join ESPN's Monday Night Countdown , and Travis - though he's still playing - already has experience hosting and starring in shows. So they'd really just be doing this podcast on the side, and for fun, and making hundreds of millions of dollars doing it. Sounds like they're living the dream to me...
