Las Vegas Raiders rookie OL gets positive reviews after first-team reps

The Las Vegas Raiders ' right tackle situation is one of the question marks on the team. With the departure of Jermaine Eluemunor in free agency, the Raiders will field a new starter at the position in 2024.

Thayer Munford Jr. is expected to take the leap as the starting right tackle for the Silver and Black in 2024, as the former Ohio State standout started ten games in 2023 at both left and right tackle.

Munford Jr. has been up and down in training camp thus far and left Tuesday's practice with a hand injury . The 24-year-old returned to practice later on, though, but rookie DJ Glaze filled in for Munford Jr. as the starting right tackle in his absence, and Glaze performed better than expected.

As far as we know, these were the first first-team reps for Glaze in training camp.

General manager Tom Telesco's decision to select Glaze in the third round of April's draft was highly criticized, as there were better players on the board, and the former Maryland Terrapin was a projected Day 3 pick with flaws in the run game.

A good showing with his first-team reps in a padded practice is a step in the right direction for Glaze and could make the right tackle position more interesting as camp continues.
