Olympic athletes wait for years to get the opportunity to represent their country and earn a medal. For Nigerian track star and former LSU standout Favour Ofili, her dream turned into an unfortunate turn of events.

Ofili was preparing for the 100-meter dash after a successful qualifying run. However, she was not entered into the race and, therefore, was not able to participate.

Ofili took to her X page to explain what happened, stating that the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, the Nigeria Olympic Committee and the Nigerian Anti-Doping Committee did not register her.

Ofili was a star during her time at LSU. She was on the 4x100-meter relay team that won the SEC outdoor track and field championships and earned an individual award for the 200-meter dash.

Ofili was not happy that she could not participate in the 100-meter race, although she still has a chance to compete in the 200-meter race.

The first round of the 200-meter dash is on August 4, and it will be interesting to see if Ofili is entered into the event.
