    1 dead, 1 arrested after Knox County stabbing

    KNOX COUNTY, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — The man who was fatally stabbed has been identified.

    According to the Kentucky State Police, Norman McCreary, 67, died as a result of several stab wounds to his neck and torso.

    Investigators said that McCreary and Eric Hibbard, 36, were fighting when Hibbard reportedly took out a knife and stabbed McCreary.

    Hibbard was arrested and booked into the Knox County Detention Center, where he was charged with murder.

    He is due to appear in court at 9 a.m. on Thursday, according to court records.

    Kentucky State Police told FOX 56 News the stabbing happened on State Highway 1232 in Gray.

    Police said the scene has been secured and a man has been taken into custody.
