    Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey.

Paul George is set to begin the next chapter of his NBA career, and it could position him well to have a shot at winning a title. But after signing a max contract with the Philadelphia 76ers this offseason, George's new teammate and budding star Tyrese Maxey made sure to give the 34-year-old a rundown of just how passionate the fanbase is.

George welcomed Maxey onto the latest episode of the Podcast P Show by Wave Sports + Entertainment, and the 2023-24 NBA Most Improved Player told his new teammate exactly what to expect.

"Funny thing is, I can't wait for him to see like, just walking around Philly or being around Philly...fans giving advice and yelling and screaming, like they're big-time fans. They really believe they know basketball, they know hoop, so it's amazing, man," Maxey said.

After George's response, Maxey continued while laughing and praising 76ers fans in the process.

"Like I walk in somewhere, and first of all, they come up to you like they know you ...and they just give me their advice, man, like 'hey, you gotta start shooting your middy more, you gotta start doing this more, you gotta start being more aggressive,'" Maxey said.

"It's nothing but love, I appreciate them, though. I'm gonna tell you, they're gonna show love. That's one thing that they're gonna really do, they're going to rally behind us I think and it's going to be great."

Maxey's breakdown for George was great, and there's no denying how passionate 76ers fans are. While the franchise's last trip to the NBA Finals came in 2000-01, and the last title was won in 1982-83, there's no question the fanbase is hungry to see this team return to the promised land.

With Maxey, Joel Embiid and now George, it's easy to argue that Philly could be one of the toughest roadblocks for the reigning champion Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference this season.
