Michael Phelps, Wife Nicole and Son Nico Coordinate in Patriotic Colors at 2024 Paris Olympics to Celebrate Team USA Gymnastics’ Gold Medal

Michael Phelps made his time at 2024 Paris Olympics a family affair on Tuesday. The 23-time Olympic gold medalist and former swimmer watched on as Team USA clinched the gold medal during the women’s gymnastics team final alongside his wife Nicole and the couple’s son Nico.
During Tuesday’s competition, Phelps was spotted in the stands wearing his iteration of semi-patriotic dressing. The former Olympian wore a red and white horizontally striped polo shirt. Phelps’ wife also wore USA athletic apparel in a fitted white zip-up with USA embossed atop a breast pocket.
The couple’s infant son wore a white T-shirt with patriotic iconography, too. He also wore blue noise-canceling headphones to protect his ears as crowds cheered on Team USA to win gold . The win marks gymnast Simone Biles’ fifth Olympic gold medal in her entire career.

Earlier, Phelps visited watchmaker Omega’s Pavilion at Parc de Bercy in Paris. The activation chronicled the brand’s timekeeping role at the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Phelps is no stranger to the Olympic stage. The former professional swimmer competed in five summer Olympics beginning with his debut at the 2000 Sydney Games to his final appearance at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
Over the course of his Olympic career, Phelps won a record 23 gold medals and 28 medals overall, becoming the most-decorated Olympian of all time. Due to his Olympic success, Phelps became a profitable athlete, garnering endorsements with several brands.
In 2010, Phelps signed a contract with Under Armour sportswear brand. For nearly 12 years, Phelps was also signed with swimwear brand Speedo. Phelps has also been an ambassador for the Swiss luxury timepiece company Omega for roughly two decades, joining the likes of ambassadors Nicole Kidman , George Clooney and more. Omega even introduced an iteration of the Seamaster Planet Ocean watch as a tribute to the American swimmer in 2017.

Other deals and endorsements Phelps received include cereal brand Wheaties and Subway sandwiches. Phelps officially retired from swimming in 2016. He and wife Nicole share four sons together. Phelps has also used his platform to advocate for mental health and awareness, often citing his own struggles with depression over the course of his career.
